‘American Idol’ finale: Adam Lambert, Angie Miller to duet
All season long on “American Idol,” we have asked a pretty simple question: When in the world is Adam Lambert coming back? The season 8 star has returned for every season leading up to this one, and while he has a good reason as to not being back this year (mostly in that he has been traveling all over the world), you had to imagine that the show would find a way to still use him … right? Definitely.
As The Hollywood Reporter confirms, Adam will be back for the upcoming season finale on May 16, where he will duet with Angie Miller (regardless of whether or not she makes the final two) on a currently-unannounced song. The pairing here makes total sense: Adam has been very complimentary of her voice online this season, and the two possess pretty huge voices with superhuman ranges behind them. They also have a knack for some dark, atmospheric song choices, and could really give the costume department a field day if Angie really wanted to go all-out with this (which we hope that she does).
For Adam, this will merely be a nice way to promote himself while he works on his third studio album this year. There are not many details known about it yet, but we expect him to work with a nice collection of both new and old collaborators. While his last album in “Trespassing” failed to receive much play on the radio, it was critically acclaimed as one of the best pop albums of the year.

LOL. This duet should really LOOK and SOUND awesome. Remember that once all the votes were counted in season 8, Adam came out in glitter platform boots, head to toe leather, shoulder cages and rhinestones on his eyes. So I’m hoping for something as epic.
Adam NEVER does the same thing the same way twice. So look for something “different”. Also “different” I’m predicting that they will sing one of Angie’s original songs. Look for this song to be on Angie’s album and Adam’s.
Also hoping for an announcement that Adam will be a judge or have some roll on Idol next year. The show needs to be revamped.

I’m thinking “Shady” would be a good song for a duet. Afterall, Adam did duet with Sam Sparro on it… I think it could be adapted for a woman’s voice. Throw in some piano (by Angie), and voila! A hit!

This is good news indeed! Can’t wait to find out what song(s) they’ll be performing. Hope Adam would get to perform one of his songs off Trespassing as well. No disrespect to anyone but this Idol finale is going to be one heck of a show cuz Adam frigging Lambert is going to be on it!

Finally, a reason to watch at least one episode of AI this year. Don’t know anything about any of the current contestants but being the consummate professional that he is, I know Adam will do his best to make Angie shine. As he did when he duetted with a young man on The Voice China recently. Can’t wait to see Adam on TV again and yes, wish he was doing a solo performance of one of the many stellar tracks on Trespassing as well.

I just heard this Angie girl sing…are you kidding me? She is out of this world. What a pure, clear voice with such a range. She shouldn’t have to go on American IDOL to be noticed. She’s young but one of the strongest voices I’ve heard. She will have all sorts of opportunities with her talent.

Well put Matt about Adam’s album getting no radio airplay but acclaimed to be one of the best albums of the year. Even iTunes labeled it 7th best album of the year and we know it wasn’t based on sales. Despite his snubbing on radio, you’ve supported him and the Glamberts appreciate it. He has had radio airplay in other countries. He is very popular in China where millions have watched him on X-Factor, IDOL and he received the Favorite International Artist award. NZ, Finland, South Africa, Russian, Asia do love Adam. And his concerts with Queen were fantastic. I can’t wait to watch IDOL again to see him on it.

Must admit I tune in each week just to find out when Adam would be back to perform. My heart is soaring now. Great pairing and of course I would love a Solo perform as well. I would love an Adam hour tv special. Adam is truly a world wide super star. Just crazy about him.

Above all thrilled Adam will be performing on Idol finale!!! Will definitely be tuning in. Hopeful there will be a solo by him also. Wish he was dueting w/ a powerhouse vocalist such as Candice. Oh well, Adam on my TV is all that matters:))

Adam Adam Adam… True he has been on the show every year since his season 8 star making season and should have been a judge in season 12… Nigel was quoted as saying that Fox made the final judging decisions, that didn’t put Adam on the panel. And Adam is so supportive of America idol no matter what they do or don’t do because that is the core of Adam Lambert: supportive of friends and family and strangers UNLESS he has to show them what is cold.

So agree with you on that comment. There is something wrong. I just don’t get it. I loved the Trespassing. I have a hard time figuring out which song is my fav I love so many of them. What is up with that. Have you seen how they honor his talent in China and around the world. WHAT!

He made one major mistake and America doesn’t forgive it appears. The music world is so wrong. I don’t listen to the radio anymore and watch no award shows or shows with music performances on them unless Adam appears (like VH1 Divas). I assume artists are only popular and have huge fan bases because the “Illuminati” chooses them and over promotes them. We know it’s not their singing that sets most of the big stars apart and the songs are not that special give or take one or two.

VERY VERY THRILLED & excited to know Adam will be on the Idol Finale! I’ve literally been crossing my fingers, sending my positive thoughts up to the Universe (it worked for Adam a few years back as I recall.. )…. all season long for this to happen. I know that Adam has been very complimentary to Angie (and to Candice, who also has the very big voice to keep up with Adam as well).. so I suspect both Angie and Adam are really thrilled to be performing a duet on the Finale. And YES! Time for Adam to showcase his stellar vocal and performance skills once again for millions of viewers on American TV…and beyond. Looking forward to next week! Yahooooooo!!!! And oh YES! Would love a little solo from Adam :))) but I’ll take what I can get! WIN/WIN!!!

I think duets are sort of the tradition on the AI finale and the contestants are all so good it doesn’t much matter who Adam sings with. I do like Angela MIller alot though, it will be fun. Any news if J Hud confimed Matt? It would be nice for her and Candice to do a duet.
