‘Hart of Dixie’ season 2 finale spoilers: Rachel Bilson’s Zoe sits alone
All TV shows like to play around with imagery, and we are certainly seeing quite a bit of this courtesy of one of the latest photos coming out now for Tuesday night’s “Hart of Dixie” season 2 finale. In the image to the left, Rachel Bilson’s character of Zoe is sitting aboard what appears to be one of the least-crowded airplanes in the history of man. It seems as though there may be someone sitting a few rows behind her, but it certainly does not look as though there is anyone sitting next to her.
The only thing more ominous than the lonely feeling of this image is the look on Zoe’s face. It looks almost someone just gave her metaphorical puppy away. What is going on here? We know that the flight she is aboard is set to take her to New York City, where there is a job opportunity potentially awaiting her. This is an opportunity to start anew, find more success, and be in a place that she is comfortable in.
However, there are many a drawback to being in New York. Not only would she be away from the new life that she has created in Bluebell, but also some possibilities in her romantic life. George clearly still has some feelings for her, and in addition to that, there is the enigma known as Wade. Can the two be happy again? It’s all going to depend on if she can truly get over what happened with the cheating scandal earlier this season.
Do you think that Zoe will end up with either Wade or George by the end of the “Hart of Dixie” finale? If you want to read some more news about the musical guest for the finale in Gloriana, be sure to check out the story over here.

I agree with CityGal, the show really lost its way these past few episodes.

My poor show, they are so lost. Please come back. It’s cheat-gate. They knew they wanted to breakup the couple but didn’t plan or poorly plan the fallout. I believe they are saving it for the finale. But the post breakup episodes seems disjointed and missing it’s soul which is Zoe and Wade. It’s missing it’s beats and the comedy, quirky events are trying to take center stage and it doesn’t work. Yes, the breakup is ruining the show. So hopefully in the finale, we’re going to get a sense of the direction the show is headed for Season 3. Do Zoe and Wade have to be a couple at the start of S3. No. But we do have to acknowledge it is THEIR journey we are invested in and makes sense of the show. The gradual build up their characters’ growth and their relationship is the center that keeps the other parts of the show working.
A beautiful, compelling story of two unlikely people who complement each other so well has been abandoned for small, trivial, mediocre storylines that regress its main characters. As a fan, it is tragic and just plain hurts. LG needs to conduct an interview with someone who will actually ask thought provoking and insightful questions. What happened? Maintaining the triangle is killing the charm and integrity of the main character and the town. These are adults not teenagers. Pick one and tell Zoe’s and whomever’s story.
Take us on that journey, but to trot out the other guy every 5 or 7 episodes to remind us of Zoe’s “continue” feelings is just stupid. If Zoe likes George, then go on a D*** date already! Stop sleeping and dragging along Wade. Why create Wade to be completely and totally in love with Zoe? This man is completely in love with this woman! Why is this so hard?
Either Zoe/George have chemistry and they are a compelling couple and tell their love story within this town OR they don’t work and end it amicably. THEN let her pursue someone else. It is awful to drag these two ADULT men around. It makes Zoe’s character a horrible person. I want to like Zoe and watch how this major life changing move to AL shapes her character either for better or worse. And right now, it’s worse. What happened to the head strong, intellectual, but needing to learn social skills Dr. that arrived in BlueBell?
After 2 seasons, I know next to nothing about George’s character. Give Scott Porter a storyline worthy of his skills – develop the character! Is Wade a good guy who just had misfortune in life and became complacent? After all he has done for Zoe to think she will now choose the George path because of cheating renders then entire season and a half romance an entire fraud. Let Wade find his redemption and someone who will see his golden-hearted and generous soul’s true worth beyond his local reputation.
It breaks my heart what is going. Leila created a beautiful light-hearted town with interesting characters and has no idea what to do with them and what stories are screaming to be told.
Leila is Xerox and the CW needs to find its Steve Jobs. Someone who can envision a story and orchestrate a team of writers to tell it.
