‘Glee’ season 4 finale spoilers: Lea Michele, Blake Jenner have something to prove

The first promo for the “Glee” season 4 finale next week is below, and while we are not going to find out whether or not some members of the New Directions are going to graduate, we will at least see how they fare at Regionals. Splitting up the school year into different seasons is a new move for the show, and it is going to enable some pretty interesting new ways to tell the story.

For one such example of this, simply look at the fact that one of the focuses is on trying to learn who is catfishing Ryder after weeks of speculation. Blake Jenner has totally rocked this entire story arc, though we have a fear that the ending is going to be rather predictable. While it technically could be Kitty, it feels more like we’re surely looking at Unique here as the culprit given that Marley already had a chance to be with him, Tina’s been crushing on Blaine, and Brittany’s with Sam.

Speaking of Brittany, Heather Morris’ character has to take on an interesting decision: Whether or not she will attend MIT after posting some amazing SAT scores. Is the whole idea of Brittany being some sort of secret genius ridiculous? Sure, but this has also been a show for some time all about hope and happy endings. Ryan Murphy already took enough flak holding Brittany back for a year, and he’d surely not want to face even more of it for forcing her into a ho-hum life.

Finally, we have that little thing known as Rachel Berry’s “Funny Girl” callback. If she actually lands this role, her life is going to change forever. Sadly, we don’t think the show is going to be so kind as to actually reveal to us what is going to happen with that role before the season is through.
