‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Katey Sagal, Kevin McHale talk storyline

If you love “Glee,” “Married … With Children,” and even “Sons of Anarchy,” then the following story is probably going to appeal to you. After all, we’re going to have an opportunity to see news pertaining to Katey Sagal, Kevin McHale, and Becca Tobin all in one full swoop.

In the video below, you can see the three actors speak out about an upcoming storyline during Thursday night’s new episode “Wonder-ful,” which features the arrival of Artie’s mom Nancy (Sagal) as her son starts to make some significant decisions about his future beyond McKinley High. He’s a guy with pretty big dreams, but at the same time being in a wheelchair could potentially make him a little more anxiety-ridden about taking on the outside world than he would otherwise be.

Sagal also talks in the clip about the lengthy journey to her being cast on the show. Both she and McHale have been huge supporters of this casting for quite some time, as he grew up watching “Married … with Children” and is an enormous fan. It was her friend Paris Barclay (who has directed episodes of “Glee” and “Sons of Anarchy,” which you would think would not have very much in the way of common ground) who actually informed her that Artie’s mother was entering the picture, which she of course took as an opportunity to show her interest for the part. It was offered to her, and the rest is history.

The only real mystery that there is right now is how Tobin fits into the picture, since she is both in the video and the image above. Are Kitty and Artie close pals, or is she going to move on from Ryder to being interested in Artie? It’s been a while since Artie has had a love interest, so it’s certainly possible.
