‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Kate Hudson’s back in the saddle

Kate HudsonIf you loved Kate Hudson, you have a pretty good reason to have a giant smile on your face. Kate Hudson is going to be back in action on “Glee” Thursday night for the new episode entitled “Wonder-ful.” With that name in mind, it should almost be a given that she will be taking on a classic from Stevie Wonder. What may be a little bit more of a surprise is that this is our favorite song of the entire episode.

What the “Glee” producers did so well with this recording was not necessarily give the song a new feeling, but actually allow it to feel authentic. You don’t get the feeling the Hudson’s Cassandra July is singing in front of a cheesy backing track, and her voice is pitched just perfectly, so that there is a distinctive retro feel to it. Plus, Kate really brings the energy here in capturing the fun feeling of Wonder’s classic hit.

This is set to be the last appearance by Hudson of the season, as she spent most of her time trying to antagonize Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry as her dance teacher. While she was not personally fond of her, you could tell that she was still trying to draw the best out of her. Plus, who knows? Maybe going through this experience will make Rachel a much stronger person in the end, especially since no one really ever doubted any fabric of her talent while at McKinley High.

There is no word on if Hudson will return for “Glee” next season, but we’ll have some more news whenever it is revealed. What do you think about this performance? If you want to hear another “Glee” number from this episode, be sure to click here for some fun courtesy of Chris Colfer.
