‘Dexter’ season 8 video: A surprising take on Batista
In the middle of showing all of their various teasers and promos for “Dexter” season 8, Showtime is also doing something else now to get the word out on the show’s June 30 return. They are bringing us some fun behind-the-scenes tidbits.
This new clip comes courtesy of series star David Zayas, who gave us an interesting look at what happens on the show when the camera stops rolling. Every actor typically has stand-ins for when the camera crew needs to get positions set, but more often than not, the person serving in this role is not actually related to the actor themselves. In this case, though, Zayas’ stand-in is none other than his own son. the two bear a pretty strong physical resemblance to each other, and could even be hard to tell from a distance just who is who.
While Zayas does not share any behind-the-scenes details in this video, we do have a feeling that there will be a rather different role coming up for his character of Batista on the season. When we last we saw him, he was contemplating retirement in order to open a restaurant. However, we’re not so sure now that these plans will stand, especially considering the death of his one-time lover and former boss LaGuerta. If he ever for one second considers that she could have been murdered, he may start to obsess over finding a way to uncover the truth and have the killer put behind bars.
Do you find it kind of funny / sweet that Zayas and his son are getting to work on the same show together? If you want to see a pair of teasers focusing on Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, be sure to head on over to the link here.
