‘Mad Men’ season 6, episode 5 preview: Talking Roger Sterling, Christina Hendricks
There’s no doubt that with a name like “The Flood,” anticipation and curiosity are both high to see what Sunday night’s new “Mad Men” season 6 episode will bring. However, we would be acting completely insane if we were to sit here and say that we knew every finer detail of what is going to happen.
However, we can at least say this: Get ready to see much more of Roger Sterling in this episode. John Slattery’s character has been pretty quiet since the second part of the two-hour premiere, but this is going to change as he hopes to court a wealthy and powerful client. Is it Heinz Ketchup? It’s possible, but that ship may have already sailed. In what had to be a pretty devastating blow to SCDP, the pitch was stolen away from them courtesy of Peggy Olson and her new team, which has to be an especially embarrassing move for Don given that much of what she does, she has to attribute to him in some shape or form to his teachings.
You can surely also expect more Joan building off of what we saw from her story last week, and with that, we’re going to segue into a pretty interesting interview Christina Hendricks gave recently to Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers. While she does not disclose anything about the rest of season 6, she opens up about how her husband was a friend of her co-star Vincent Kartheiser, and how she tries not to bring any of Joan home with her, hard as that may be at times.
What do you expect to see happen on Sunday night’s “Mad Men”? Be sure to share some more of your thoughts below, and you can also bear witness to a funny side of Kartheiser by reading the story over at the link here.
