‘Glee’ season 4, episode 21 preview: Darren Criss, Chris Colfer’s characters reunite

Chris ColferCan you believe that there are just two new episodes left on “Glee” this season? Time is quickly running out on the gang from McKinley High to finish their stories for the year, and when it comes to Darren Criss’ character of Blaine, he is about to drop a rather enormous surprise on Kurt’s father: He wants to marry his son!

We all knew that this was coming, based on the rampant spoilers that Blaine is going to be engagement-ring shopping during the finale. However, what was a little bit more unclear was just how the whole process was going to begin, or that Burt Hummel would be involved at any stage. We’re just happy to see Mike O’Malley again, even for a brief span of time following his brilliant work on “Justified” this season. (Then again, we’re convinced that O’Malley could do anything.)

There are also some other stories that do have to be addressed this week, including the future for Ryder romantically, whether Cassandra July really starts to get into Rachel’s head, and how New Directions are going to use the music of Stevie Wonder to prepare for Regionals. We love Stevie, but we have to say that this is a surprising theme given that everyone seems to pay tribute to him these days, and this hardly an example of outside-the-box thinking. (Let’s just hope to get some good story out of this to go with the music, since that is always our concern with the “Glee” tributes.)
