‘Bones’ season 8 finale spoilers: Emily Deschanel on Booth, Brennan’s future
It’s common knowledge that if you are a showrunner that wants to build up excitement for your show’s finale, you are probably going to stick some pretty darn important events right smack in the middle of it. For the “Bones” finale on Monday night, there will definitely be a little bit of that unfolding. Not only are we set to see the return of Pelant for the first time since earlier on in season 8, but the topic of Booth and Brennan’s future concerning marriage will certainly come into play
So could we actually see an engagement on the horizon? When you already consider everything else that is going on in the lives of these two characters, it feels almost as if they have already reached that point in their relationship given that they are responsible parents, co-workers, and people who just in general love each other very much. Now, they just need to make it official.
Speaking to TV Guide, Emily Deschanel teases that you will see her character soften somewhat on the topic versus where she was previously:
“That subject definitely comes up and Brennan may be open to things she wasn’t open to in the past … Brennan has come a long way in how she views Booth and how she views marriage. She definitely takes some action in regards to her future with Booth.”
Does this mean that we are going to for sure see a ring on someone’s finger? Far from it, but it does at least look like there will be a substantial amount of progress made compared to where the two were at this point last year. Want more “Bones” finale scoop? I think they will get engaged. I also think Pelant is going to make Booth decide between others getting killed and turning himself over to Pelant. Kind of like the decision Hodgins had to make with his money. Booth, being the former soldier wouldn’t let people die if he can stop it. The producers mentioned that in order to bring David back for season 9 they had to make the story line more exciting for him. They used his military background as a point they’d like to explore. What better way to create drama then to end this season with Booth being captured and tortured and beginning next season with a skeleton similar to Booths showing up in a field, freaking Brennan and the team out only to be rescued, and forcing Booth to face all the inner demons he’s experienced being held captive.
