‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 finale spoilers: What’s up with Robin here?

We know that the “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 finale is entitled “Something New,” but it seems like during the actual episode, we are going to be taking some trips through what appears to be time.

What’s with the photo to the left here? If we had to guess, it would be that we are looking at a flashback, given the color of Lily’s hair and what it looked like during the earlier seasons. (Plus, the fashion also seems to mirror what the characters were wearing back in the day.)

So what can really be learned from the characters looking back at the past? If there is one thing that we could guess, it would be that the writers are trying to inform us on a few key points that will allow us to better understand the journey to the altar, and why Barney and Robin’s wedding day is one that will be filled with both so much joy and anxiety.

…But will we actually get to the wedding during the episode? The jury’s still out on that one, and for the time being, we cannot say that we are necessarily 120% optimistic on it. There are still 24 episodes left after this one, and while we typically like to think we have a good idea as to what will happen on future seasons of a show, we’re lost for words this time around given just how little time the show has left to cover.
