‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: First Jessica Sanchez photo from ‘Lights Out’

Jessica Sanchez fans, the wait is almost over. One week before the “American Idol” star releases her debut album “Me, You, & the Music,” we now have the very first photo of her “Glee” character Frida Romero.

Unfortunately, there really isn’t much to see here in this photo save for her belting a song out. It doesn’t look like she is in a familiar location, which makes a little bit of sense given that she is a part of the Indianapolis glee club the Hoosierdaddies. It certainly is a colorful picture, though, in between the bright blue, the pastel purple, and the canary yellow.

Save for actually performing, we don’t really know what the role of Frida is going to be on the show just yet. We’ve heard that she is some sort of “legendary” singer across the state, but that she is actually pretty nice and level-headed in real life rather than being some sort of enormous diva. Considering that we’ve known about this casting pretty much since before the season even began, though, there is a certain level of expectation for this to be an entertaining part.

This appearance also comes at a crucial time for the singer. We already told you about the album release, and her new single “Tonight” (featuring Ne-Yo) finally has a radio  date early next month, over a month after performing it on “American Idol.” We’re sure that this is frustrating for her fans, and the only real reason we can think of Interscope doing it this way is so that they can try to posture Sanchez’s hit as some sort of summer smash a la “Call Me Maybe.”
