‘The X Factor’ USA: Khloe Kardashian out; Mario Lopez stays on for season 3

The X Factor LogoFinally, we have a verdict on the future of the “X Factor” USA hosting gig … but it is probably not one that Khloe Kardashian is going to be altogether thrilled with. After one season on board the show, and some pretty negative reviews to boot after she came on board for some of the live rounds, Fox announced on Monday in a statement that she would not be back for the third season:

“Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host The X Factor … We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

Khloe’s biggest problem seemed to be that she simpled struggled to really read out some of her canned lines on the teleprompter, and she looked awkward walking from one part of the stage to the other. Meanwhile, we actually thought she was okay backstage with the contestants, mostly because it gave her more opportunities to show off some of her talents.

As for Mario Lopez, he has been confirmed to stay on as the show’s host moving forward. Personally, we don’t necessary think that Lopez was really much better, mostly since he came off as robotic at times and unsympathetic to the contestants. Then again, it’s possible that a full season as a part of the family could change that.

Simon Cowell had the following to say about this part of the decision:

“I’m thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of The X Factor. Hosting a live show and keeping the judges – especially Demi [Lovato] – in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back.”

What do you think about this news, and do you think that either one of these moves is good for “The X Factor” in the long-term? If you want to read a little bit more news about season 2 stars Fifth Harmony, you can do so over at the link here.
