‘Mad Men’ season 6, episode 5 preview: What’s next for Don and Megan?
Sunday night’s “Mad Men” episode proved to be an interesting stepping stone for the Don / Megan relationship, mostly because the twisted mind of our ad executive seems to believe that Megan kissing another man in character for work is egregious and worse than him having a real-life affair with one of her friends living in the same building. What a bizarre, twisted world that Don lives in.
So are we going to see the Drapers staying together after Don stormed off of her work set? While there is no proof of anything just yet, the “promo” (if you can call it that) for this Sunday’s “The Flood” shows the two smiling at each other in some sort of formal event. If there is still some sort of turmoil bubbling up behind the scenes, we at least know right now that it is not manifesting itself in front of some other people. (Of course, the secretive / cryptic nature of these promos makes it almost impossible to take too much from them at all.)
As always, it should not come as much of a shock at all that the synopsis for this episode really does not give anything more away than teasers for a pair of characters: “Peggy plans for the future, while Roger courts a potential client.” The Roger story is at the moment the most intriguing part of the synopsis, mostly because we haven’t seen much of him since the two-hour premiere. However, you could also say the same thing about Betty, and there is still no indication on when January Jones and her new hairdo will show up again.
