‘Breaking Bad’ season 5: Betsy Brandt shares ‘ending’ to season finale

Betsy BrandtWant some more details on the end of “Breaking Bad”? Well, you really didn’t get any courtesy of “The Nerdist” on BBC America Saturday night. Betsy Brandt was on the show as a guest alongside “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm, and what came out of this was a lively conversation between two stars of landmark AMC series.

Let’s start here with Brandt’s joke when pressed by Hamm and host Chris Hardwick to spoil the final ten minutes of the season: she proclaimed that there was a “standoff” between her character Marie and Walter White, and that the two end up kissing while Matt Myra spontaneously shows up. As you can see in the video below, Brandt was also kind enough at one point to kiss Myra just as she did in a recent bowling tournament to psych him out.

On a more serious note, Brandt said that her heart in many ways was still “in New Mexico,” where the show recently wrapped up filming after five seasons. She is getting an opportunity now to move forward with a leading role in the upcoming Michael J. Fox project on NBC, but of course it’s very hard to compare one experience with the other. (This is something that Bryan Cranston knows quite a bit about in between this show and “Malcolm in the Middle.”)

We’re hoping that BBC America will start to air more repeats of “The Nerdist” over the next few weeks to give folks who missed the show a chance to check it out beyond just a few overnight airings; for now, be sure to set your DVRs from here on out if you’re not at home; if you are, watch it live and support the show!
