‘Switched at Birth’ season 2 spoilers: Who’s getting a new love interest?

Switched at BirthWhile you still have to wait a couple of months before “Switched at Birth” returns to ABC Family with new episodes, we do at least have some news coming up that should make fans of a particular characters especially pleased.

According to a brand-new report coming in from Deadline, Matt Kane is set to play Jace, who is described as a “brilliant” owner of a coffee shop who just so happens to also be a potential love interest for Katie Leclerc’s character of Daphne. His status is currently set as recurring, meaning that he will turn up in at least a few episodes of the rest of the show’s second season.

Kane is a British actor who is little-known in America, with his most prominent exposure coming via 32 installments of “The Cut.” He did also have a tiny role on the long-running version of “Skins” across the pond, which did lead to a short-lived version in America that aired on MTV.

While “Switched at Birth” may not receive the same level of publicity as some of the other ABC Family series, it has continued to maintain a loyal fan following among young people, even to the point where it is now one of the network staples alongside “Pretty Little Liars.” It also also given a voice to a community of deaf Americans who often are not represented on any other show except in crass or crude ways.
