‘Criminal Minds’ season 8 finale spoilers: Now with Luke Skywalker!
If you are going to go for a big-name guest star for your season finale, we absolutely cannot argue against the idea of trying to book one of the most-popular in all of geek culture; with that in mind, we now introduce the news that “Criminal Minds” is going to be paid a visit during its upcoming season 8 finale from none other than legendary former “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill.
According to TV Guide, Hamill (who is also well-known for his voice-acting work) has signed on to appear in the two-part season finale happening in late May … and unfortunately that’s really all we know. Is it possible that he could be playing the Replicator? Certainly. This character has been the show’s “Big Bad” of sorts throughout the season thus far, but as yet to make an appearance.
Series executive producer Erica Messer has previously commented that the Replicator will not actually appear until the final two episodes of the season, so the timing certainly makes sense; in addition to that, Hamill is no stranger to nefarious characters, and even is well known for voicing the classic “Batman” villain of the Joker.
While “Criminal Minds” does not always generate the publicity of some other series on TV, it does continue to attract a pretty enormous following of over ten million viewers every Wednesday night. It’s all but assured that there will also be a season 9, with the only question out there at the moment being who will stay on the CBS drama for more?
What do you think about Hamill’s casting in the part, and are you excited for the rest of “Criminal Minds” this season? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below!
