‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: Alexander Skarsgard teases vampire – human drama
There are all sorts of questions that continually come up with a show like “True Blood,” but during the offseason there is really only one: what in the world is going to happen next? If you saw the finale for season 5, then it is pretty easy to draw the conclusion that the episodes ahead are probably going to involve Eric Northman in some shape or form trying to chase after the vampire-god form of Bill after he drank Lilith’s blood.
As it turns out, though, this may not be the biggest threat that Eric faces at all when the show returns to HBO on June 16. Rather, Alexander Skarsgard explains in a new interview on “Live! with Kelly and Michael” that one of the biggest struggles in the episodes ahead is going to be trying to deal with the human threat; this has become more and more noticeable over the years as humans start to learn how to fight back, and the tension is apparently about to bubble over:
“Humans have never been a problem [for vampires] … But for the first time, they’re actually a real threat. Eric’s real busy this year.”
During this interview, Skarsgard also managed to receive a few noticeable “awws” from the audience when he told a story about how he ended up leaving university in New York City after a semester because he was in love with a woman back in his native Sweden, but the relationship ended up barely going anywhere as soon as he returned home. You can watch that video below, but it’s fair to say at the moment that everything has turned out quite all right for the actor.
