‘Big Brother Canada’ review: The endurance winner, and a predictable choice

Big Brother CanadaOn Sunday night’s “Big Brother Canada,” we basically saw something that was a foregone conclusion to anyone who has watched a Head of Household Competition unfold over the years: the smaller, thinner contestants (namely the women and the small guys) tend to fare much better than the big or beefy.

With this in mind, along with the events that have already transpired on the show this season, it was hardly much of a shock at all to end up seeing Jillian win Head of Household for the second time this season. What is interesting is that thanks to a certain cheating scandal, she has had the power twice while Emmett hasn’t had it at all. (Yet, Emmett is considered the bigger threat and the one more likely to win in the end.)

As for the nominations, these are also names you could have seen coming a mile away. Since Emmett is close to both Alec and Peter thanks to their status as the former “Quatro Alliance,” Jillian likely felt that it was her responsibility to put the two up in order to separate one of the biggest alliances in the game in The Shield. Alec is clearly the biggest target in the game right now in that he can win competitions, he is extremely strategic, and he has relationships with just about everyone in the game. With that in mind, though, he has made some major mistakes … including the complicated state of things with Topaz that has become a bit of a distraction.
