‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 alum likely bound for ‘Wonderland’ spin-off, if picked up

Once Upon a TimeJust how many connections will “Once Upon a Time” likely end up having with the upcoming “Wonderland” spin-off proposed to ABC? This has been a question ever since it was revealed that Sebastian Stan was not able to commit to the show as the Mad Hatter / Jefferson, citing scheduling conflicts. We already know that Alice and The Knave are two of the new characters that have been brought on board, but it does thankfully still look like we will be seeing another familiar face.

According to reports, Barbara Hershey is likely to reprise her role as Cora (otherwise known as the Queen of Hearts) in some form during the series if it ends up being picked up. She will not likely be featured during the four-scene presentation the show’s executive producers give to ABC, but it’s clear that she is a key part of the Wonderland mythology, even though her character is dead in present-day Storybrooke.

One of the challenges for “Once: Wonderland” is seeing how it will be able to use the world of the flagship show and also create something new and original all its own, and having Cora around is a great way to do that. After all, are there really any other characters on the show that could appear in the spin-off? Unless Jefferson turns up, it seems unlikely. The only other option is getting The Who’s Roger Daltrey to come back, as he played a voice-over part in the first episode featured Stan back in season 1.
