First look: ‘Shameless’ season 3, ‘House of Lies’ season 2 finales

Showtime doesn’t have just one season finale airing on Sunday night; instead, they have a full three! We are going to be seeing the likes of “House of Lies,” “Shameless,” and “Californication” all come to an end for the year (but not for the series) beginning at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and we have a first look at all three episodes in the video below.

The bad news that is present here is that the video is not particularly revealing when it comes to spoilers, as you just see a few assorted scenes here and there that include some small developments. For one, isn’t it always interesting to see what happens when “Shameless” and a hospital meet? The buildup to this episode has been very entertaining, even if for whatever reason no one really seems to be talking about it in the media.

As for the “House of Lies” finale, we are finally going to see the conclusion of two stories: whether or not Marty Cohn is going to be able to finally drift away and form his own company, and if he and Jeanie are really going to define their relationship following the abrupt ends to their previous couplings on last week’s episode.

While none of these shows are necessarily smash hits in the ratings, they all premiered to strong numbers that prove yet again that the retention rate for premium cable far surpasses what we traditionally see on broadcast TV. Plus, this age of binge-watching, Netflix, and DVRs help to make it far easier to dive into a serialized show than it used to be.
