‘Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites’ preview: The return of the food challenge
There are some challenges on “Survivor” that tend to polarize audiences, and for a variety of reasons. For example, many people find watching puzzle after puzzle to be boring, and what to see more physical challenges or ones that feature the castaways having to do gross things. However, there are also some who would rather watch a million puzzles than someone pull meat off of a carcass using nothing but their mouths.
The gross food-eating challenge is one that has been missing now for several seasons, but on Wednesday night, it will be returning as a rare individual immunity challenge. (Has there every been a food challenge for the necklace? Let us know, since we can’t think of one off the top of our head outside of the team ones.) What will be interesting straight out of the gate here is that this should show us who is seriously nervous about their life in the game, and who is comfortable enough to coast and not even try to eat some of these “local delicacies.” Whenever we see someone quit on a challenge, we almost always immediately want to see them end up getting voted out of the game (even if that rarely happens).
From a surface perspective, the players who probably need to win this the most at the moment are Michael, Reynold, Eddie, and possibly even Phillip and Corinne given that they are at each other’s throats. While Reynold has an immunity idol, it would surely do him some good to act as though he needs this necklace more than life itself.
What do you think: do you like the food challenge, or are they too gross for you? If you want to see where we’ve ranked some of the contestants going into Wednesday’s show, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
