‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ finale review: NeNe Leakes … saves the day?
On the season 5 finale of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Sunday night, there was a costume party! You would think that this would be a setting for some pretty entertaining stuff … right? Well, as it turns out, not so much. With this being the finale, you knew that there would be some fireworks as a result, but who quite expected them to be like this?
This was one of the stranger fights that we have ever seen on a reality show, mostly because it all seemed to be sparked by Kenya Moore being upset about the sole fact that Porsha Stewart wore a different outfit to the bash than she originally said that she would. By was this a big deal? Because it’s all about the perception of a “perfect party,” and in Kenya’s mind for whatever reason, she took this as an issue of not having the control that she really wanted as a host.
While NeNe Leakes end up in many ways saving the party (and via telephone, no less), this really was the best way to actually summarize the season as a whole. Was it entertaining? Sure, but we really feel in many ways that it took the joy out of what this show was originally about to us: opulence. It has become too much about the drama, and about women fighting constantly over airtime. What both this version of the show and the “New Jersey” one need to realize is what the “Orange County” show has already figured out: that people really watch this to be entertained, and there is only so much fighting over pointless things that we can take.
What did you think about this episode, and who do you think came off the worst during this costume party? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can also head on over to the link here if you want to read the latest on the Porsha Stewart saga.
