‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Will there be any original songs coming up?

Melissa BenoistIf you think back to season 2 of “Glee,” then you will certainly be well aware of the fact that the show has performed a number of original songs in the past. Of the group, “Loser Like Me” is probably the most popular, though “Light Up the World” and “Get It Right” have also gotten some attention. However, the show more or less moved away from this during much of the third season, and went back to doing predominantly covers of other songs.

So are we going to see a move back in a more original direction on the show moving forward? As it turns out, the answer to this is both a little bit of yes and a little bit of no. In an upcoming episode of the show, we are reportedly going to see a story surrounding Marley (Melissa Benoist) writing an original song for Regionals, but there are rumors that this song may be the one that there are already demos floating around for. (You can check out the song currently rumored to it below via Mjsbigblog.)

If this actually does end up being the song that is used for the show, we’re sure that our feelings are ultimately going to be rather mixed. Of course, we’d love to see something that was made especially for the show right now, but that may not really be feasibly considering the budget and everything else the show has gone on right now with multiple settings and a rather enormous cast.

What do you think: should there be some more original songs ahead on “Glee” season 4? Be sure to share some more of your thoughts below, and you can read some more scoop regarding the show’s April return “Shooting Star” over at the link here.
