Eric Stonestreet, Matthew Perry attending 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner

If there is one political ceremony a year that is worth watching for entertainment purposes alone, it is the White House Correspondents Sinner. Basically, it is the one opportunity a year in which we have to watch very rich and very powerful people insult one another and get away with it. It’s not only interesting to see who ends up being the butt of the joke, but we also find great pleasure in seeing just what celebrities choose to hob-nob at the end.

In the past, we have seen such people as Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan at the event, and this year The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Eric Stonestreet will be returning to the proceedings this year as a guest of the network that broadcasts “Modern Family” in ABC. As for NBC, they are going to be bringing along “Go On” star Matthew Perry (which could be a good sign for the show’s future on the network, given that they are still supporting him).

As for Kardashian, her status at this year’s event is still unclear, although reps for the reality superstar (and pop-culture pariah) insist that she would like to attend again. We’re sure that there are some other controversial figures who will end up showing up as a way for some news organization to bring attention to themselves, but they have not been announced yet.

Just in case you were wondering why Conan is included as a part of the article, it’s because he will be providing the comedy for the event for the second time this year. Considering that he is fiercely intelligent and also very unpredictable, this should make for a good time.
