‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2, episode 18 preview: Poor Geppetto…

Once Upon a TimeIs it settled that Geppetto may be one of the saddest characters on “Once Upon a Time” right now? We have to think so. After all, this is a guy so desperate to have a son that he makes one out of wood, and then one so desperate to see that son have a life that he helped to sneak him out of the fairytale world along with Emma Swan. Now, he is going to be the recipient of a punch to the face by a suddenly-awful Mary Margaret.

In what may be a sign that the character’s heart truly is starting to darken, the sneak peek below from Sunday night’s “Selfless, Brave, and True” features Geppetto’s Storybrooke counterpart Marco trying to apologize for lying about whether or not the wardrobe could only carry one person between worlds so many years ago. Rather than being sympathetic about the man’s plight (which is even easier to do since we know what has happened to August ever since he arrived in this world), Snow instead responds with anger, saying that she could have used the wardrobe, too, had she known this. Then, we have the violence.

We’re thrilled first of all to be getting more on a story that has been largely untouched ever since the first season, but in addition to that, we also have to admit that is more than enticing to see just what is going to happen to Mary Margaret now. We certainly don’t want to see the character turn evil forever, but the idea of her having to conquer her own inner demons should be rather entertaining to watch.
