‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: Elisabeth Moss speaks out on newfound power
For those of you hoping to see a completely new Peggy on “Mad Men” season 6, we have a feeling that the following bit of scoop is almost sure to make you smile.
Speaking as a part of a new interview with E! News, Elisabeth Moss confirmed that there is going to be a little bit of a change in her character now that she is in a brand-new position at a rival firm. After all, she no longer has to deal with the frustration and humiliation of being below a group of men with a serious superiority complex, and they may have to actually confront the truth now that someone else, including a woman, may be better than them at their job. Sadly, Moss’ quote on the subject is really just a mere sentence (which is the most you are really going to get from any actor at this point promoting the show):
“She has been taking so much s**t for so long. It’s nice to order them around for a change!”
Going into production for this season, there were questions surrounding just how much of a role Peggy was really going to be able to have. After all, her primary tie to the other characters was her job, and now, she doesn’t even have that. What is she supposed to rely on instead to get involved in the world of Don Draper? We really see there as being three possibilities:
1. She spends time with him away from the workplace, and their friendship allows her to hear about what is going on with the other characters.
2. Pete finds a way to get involved in her life again.
3. She becomes a serious threat to Don in the workplace, and the two start to take part in a pretty awesome game of corporate cat-and-mouse.
