‘Supernatural’ season 9: Misha Collins talks preparing for directorial debut

Misha CollinsSure, we are still several episodes away from the end of “Supernatural” season 8 … but why not talk a little bit about what is coming up on the show in the fall? While we don’t know much about season 9 yet, save for the fact that it is happening, we do know that Misha Collins will once again be a series regular like he was earlier on in the show’s run. Not only that, but he is going to have some sort of opportunity to direct an episode for the first time.

So what is the actor doing in order to prepare for that? As he explained during a chat with TVLine (which was one of many in order to preview his return to the show in “Goodbye Stranger”), Collins feels as though he is going to receive plenty of help from the crew and (most of ) the cast in order to make the transition fairly seamless:

“What excites me most…is that I get to direct an episode of a show where the whole crew is going to be really supportive and I know them. They’re going to be happy to help me along the way. To me, it’s very comforting to know that I’ve got an entire crew that has my back. What’s stressful about it is that, unfortunately, Sam, played by Jared Padalecki, is in every episode. I’m going to have to direct Jared, and he’s going to do everything in his power to make my job a living hell. [Laughs] That’s what excites me and scares me most.”

Based on the fact that we will be meeting Metatron near the end of season 8, it is probably fair to say that some of the upcoming episodes of the show are going to involve angels.
