‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: A look into Ted, Barney’s future

If you have been reading our site as of late, then you are probably more than familiar at this point with the complicated schedule at the moment for “How I Met Your Mother.” There have been multiple episodes that have been switched around, and the producers / the network are obviously trying to do just about everything that they can in order to set the stage properly for the Barney / Robin wedding that will bring us closer than ever to answering the show’s principal question: who is the mother?

Sadly, we don’t think that “The Time Travelers” (airing a week from Monday, so ignore the time stamp in the promo below) is really going to get us that much closer to finding out the answer. Instead, what we are going to see here is a story that does give us a little bit more insight into the future of some of our favorite characters as Ted and Barney supposedly receive a visit from versions of themselves from years down the road, and they try to convince Ted to yet again attend an event that will eventually become a tradition for the gang: Robots vs. Wrestlers.

Will Future Barney in particular be successful? We’re assuming so, and what we are therefore a little bit more interested in at the moment is just trying to figure out why in the world attending this particular event is so important. After all, it really is just robots and wrestlers fighting it out for domination … right? Is there something more at play here? Hopefully, the show will deliver more answers to these questions soon enough.
