‘Big Brother Canada’ spoilers: Did Emmett cheat to win Head of Household?

Now that we’ve given Aneal his moment courtesy of his “Big Brother Canada” exit interview, we want to get to something that is driving almost the entire nation insane right now: the notion that Emmett may have cheating during the Head of Household challenge by using his hands after the instructions clearly stated for him not to. (Heck, there was even another warning handed out during the challenge itself.)

So what is going to happen as a result of last night’s Twitter explosion? We really don’t want to spread any rumors on anything unless we know for sure that it’s true. Let’s start out with this: the video below makes it pretty clear that Emmett was in fact holding one of the balls during the challenge in his hands, though we’re sure some out there are probably willing to make the argument that he was already so far ahead that it really didn’t matter. The only thing we’re curious about is whether or not Emmett was aware that he was breaking the rules, since it seems like hollering and bringing attention to yourself is not something that you would really want to do if you know that you had just committed a serious violation of the “Big Brother Canada” rulebook.

So what does the show do now as a punishment? Throwing him out of the game is a little severe to us, mostly because cheating in competitions has happened on various editions of the show for years. Personally, we though that putting him automatically on the block is a serviceable punishment, that way he can still save himself later on with the Veto, but he has to question his life in the game as a consequence of his actions. We don’t know if production is doing that, though; the lives feeds are going to be down for the rest of the day, and all we can assume is that this situation is going to be addressed.

Some of the rumors online suggest that there is a re-do going on for HoH, as there are some other issues of fairness being brought in here since Andrew’s machine also seemed to malfunction. These are just rumors, and all we can say is that due to the feeds being down for as long as they have been, producers are definitely doing something right now to address the situation.
