‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, and … Carrie Underwood?

LylasDespite what you may initially think, the name at the end of this edition of “The X Factor” notes is not a misprint in the slightest. We do have some interesting news coming up pertaining to Carrie Underwood, and we’ll have a little more on that soon.

But before we get to that, we have some good news to share when it comes to the progress of Fifth Harmony’s debut album: they’re still getting some opportunities to spend time with L.A. Reid. In what is some rather nice evidence that the head of Epic Records is still speaking to the ladies after the show, band member Normani Kordei posted the following message on her Twitter account:

“Aww ! It was GREAT seeing you and we are so happy to be apart of the Epic Family ! ❤”

Meanwhile, L.A. still seems intent on referencing something from the middle of the season that was not exactly flattering:

“Singing in perfect HARMONY. Yes, I said it! @FifthHarmony

At the end of the day, we’re just thrilled that the ladies have the support now of Reid, and that they continue to do what they can to get attention for themselves during the recording process. After all, being fresh in the mind of fans is so important these days, especially with a singing competition around every corner.

As for Demi – Ready for some unjustified controversy? The internet exploded earlier this week with comments that Demi Lovato made to KDWB in Minnesota, suggesting that they were automatically about one of her famous friends. However, we don’t really think that they are specific enough to be referencing anyone:

“A lot of celebrities don’t open up to their fans. They just tell them what they want to hear. They don’t really tell them things that can benefit their lives. They just, you know, maybe flaunt around a boyfriend and sell a couple albums. That’s not what my career is about.”

What do you think about these comments? We want to hear some of your thoughts below!

As for Carrie … It’s probably fair to say right now that the former “American Idol” champ is not going to be a judge on season 3. While she hinted at potentially being interested in a chat with Glamour Magazine, Simon Cowell responded in a radio interview by saying that he hasn’t really heard much of the rumors, and he doesn’t think that anything is happening there … at least for the time being.

If we were Simon, however, we would do whatever we could to get on this. Carrie’s got a loyal country fanbase, she’s likable, and she would be engaging enough to give good feedback.
