‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: Expect a deeper understanding of Don Draper

Now that AMC released their latest poster to help hype up “Mad Men” season 6, everyone is speculating that Don Draper is going to go back to his old life of bar hopping and bed hopping behind his wife’s back.  The artwork shows Don Draper holding hands with a woman (likely Megan) looking back at his former self – could this be the direction that the show is going with Don, that he will be going back to his old ways or is this going to be a struggle Don will face and he will remain faithful to Megan?

When we left Don and Megan, she was feeling better then ever about their marriage since Don seemed like he was supporting her independence and her dreams of becoming an actress, while Don felt that their relationship was unraveling.  The last scene of Don was at a bar, by himself with a beautiful woman asking him if he was alone – this could really go in either direction for Don in “Mad Men” season 6.

In a new video released by AMC, show creator Matthew Weiner offers some insight into this very topic: Will Don go back to his old ways or not? Will we finally get a chance to really learn about Don’s character? Weiner said: “I think people will enjoy season 6, because it’s a real journey into learning about Don and it’s very much a reflection about the period that we chose. We left off in the Spring of 1967. There is no year left between now and then that is not filled with upheaval.  What I hope people get is the next chapter in these people’s life, a lot of insight into Don, a new dynamic and also people striving to grow up.”
