‘The Bachelor’ finale spoilers: Chris Harrison says Sean Lowe knew pick going in

Sean LoweWhile we are going to see some of the standard dates, romance, family visits, and everything in between on Monday night’s finale of “The Bachelor,” we are also going to be seeing a proposal at the very end. So who is it? We’ll save the answer for that question until after the episode airs, but for now let’s just say that Chris Harrison was very much aware of what was going to happen with Sean Lowe even before the final rose ceremony happened.

Speaking in a new interview with E! News, the host reveals that he knew who Sean would pick prior to even the start of the finale, but added that the Bachelor was still very unsure at the time of the hometown dates (which was clearly his most-frightening deliberation of the season).

As for why Sean decided to pick Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter for the end of the show rather than AshLee Frazier, Harrison explained that it was largely a situation of where he was in his life, and what he was looking for at the end of the day:

“Oh yeah, he was happy withLindsay and Catherine [as the final two] … I think he aspires and hopes and looks to have something like AshLee represents, I think that’s what his parents have. But I also think that in the end he realized he’s just not there yet, and she’s a little more mature and a little further along than he is. Catherine and Lindsay are a little younger at heart and more fancy-free, where he can think, ‘OK, that’s a little more me right now.'”

If Sean really did know who he was going to pick prior to the start of “The Bachelor” finale, do you wonder in many ways why the show continued to put us through all of the waiting? It’s a good question, and hopefully it’s something we’ll have explained to us during the “After the Final Rose” special.
