‘Bones’ season 8, episode 18 review: Cam and Arastoo’s romance heats up
On tonight’s episode of “Bones” season 8, Cam and Arastoo’s romance is still going strong, but they are still trying to do their best to keep it a secret as they try to leave the lab separately to meet for dinner. When a new case rolls in as they leave for their date, their dinner plans are derailed. Cam apologizes to Arastoo for them not making dinner, and says that she knows keeping things a secret isn’t easy, but he tells her that loving her is the easiest thing he’s ever done.
When Angela sees Cam and Arastoo together she tells Hodgins that their chemistry is obvious and that she wants to tell Cam that she knows, but Hodgins tells her to keep it to herself.
As the group gets deeper into the barrel case, Arastoo gets very emotional about the victim after he learns that they were a child soldier. He starts a fight with Hodgins when Hodgins hits a dead end with his research, claiming that he doesn’t care and that his information is wrong. Hodgins fights back saying that he isn’t done searching yet, but Arastoo is too fired up to let the fight go. Cam takes Arastoo aside and tries to calm him down, but he’s concerned that people will talk about them, so he says he’ll apologize to Hodgins and get back to the case.
Later Arastoo goes to Cam to explain his behavior. He tells her that he has some experience with child soldiers, that while he was privileged, his cousin was taken away in front of him and died. Cam hugs him and he reminds her that they are at work and that someone will see them – and someone does, Hodgins, Angela see them, along with Brennan that didn’t know. Cam and Hodgins come clean about their relationship to them saying that it will not affect their working relationship.
Booth wants to take Brennan away on a vacation and Brennan thinks it could be a really good opportunity to learn something new, but Booth has other plans that involve beaches, booze and beds – no learning allowed. Brennan later suggests Paris, but she quickly reveals her plans to learn about the history and Booth veto’s the suggestion. Brennan later comes up with a idea to go to the gulf of Thailand for their vacation saying that it will be an adventure and Booth finally buckles because there is both learning and beaches on this vacation.
