‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: Alfie Allen on fan reaction, Theon’s future

Alfie AllenHave you noticed something about the “Game of Thrones” season 3 press images as of late? They are missing a character that was a pretty key component in the season 2 storyline: Alfie Allen’s Theon Greyjoy. So what gives here? We don’t want to spoil anything enormous that is coming up for the character, but he is not a major player in A Storm of Swords, which is the third book in the George R.R. Martin series that the show is based on. Therefore, we are probably not going to be seeing anything more out of Allen this coming season than just a few reminders here and there that he exists.

So does the actor have a good idea of what is coming up for the character? Allen sat down for an interview recently with “The Sci-Fi Show” (which you can see here with a warning for language), and he did his part to explain that while he has read the first three books in the series, he constantly has fans of the show coming up to him and asking just how far ahead that he has read.

Allen also explains that he does not necessarily find Theon to be completely evil, but more of just a man who acts selfishly and impulsively. His actions are what makes him one of the most entertaining characters to watch on the show, but also one of the most complicated. After seeing the way in which his reign of terror over Winterfell ended in season 2, we’re rather disappointed that he will have a smaller role in the near future. (However, we do have it on good authority that there are still going to be some great things ahead for him.)

Are you going to miss Theon if he is not a significant part of this coming season? If you want to check out the extended trailer for the show’s third season, you can do so by heading on over to the link here.
