‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6: Howard’s letter from [spoiler]

Big Bang TheoryAt some point on “The Big Bang Theory,” you knew that the show was going to have to address just what happened when it came to Howard Wolowitz’s dad. It has been alluded to in the past that he took off when the character was very little, and he thus left Howard’s mother to try and raise him on her own.

The timing seems perfect for Howard’s dad to suddenly try to get back into his life, especially when you remember that the guy is an astronaut now: it’s a position that makes him into an instant hero, and who wouldn’t want to know their son if they were in such a position? However, Howard has to consider that this is a man who obviously hasn’t been there for him at all over the years, and it is pretty likely that the man is not exactly reaching out with noble intentions.

The episode that will create this dilemma for Simon Helberg’s character is called the “Closet Reconfiguration” and will air on March 14. Be sure to check out the full synopsis below via CBS:

“Howard struggles with whether or not he should open a letter from his father, and Leonard and Penny throw a ‘grown-up’ cocktail party at the apartment.”

At the end of the day, we’re sure that Howard will likely either hold on to this letter for a later date or open it, if for no other reason than that it would be a pretty awful tease otherwise. Plus, this does present the character with some much-needed drama in his life, as there really isn’t much now that he is married and he and Bernadette have not gotten to the point where the subject of children is coming up in a big way (and you already know how Bernadette feels about kids).

Are you glad that “The Big Bang Theory” is finally taking on this story with Howard? If you want to take a first look at the episode airing next week, you can do so over here.
