‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Will Joe Manganiello return again?

Have we really seen the last of Joe Manganiello on “How I Met Your Mother” season 8? Based on what we are hearing now, it seems as though Brad may be making one more visit by the time the season is over.

Speaking in a brief chat with TV Guide about the recently-announced news that Becki Newton (whose series “The Goodwin Games” just earned a May 20 premiere date) will be returning for at least one more episode as Barney’s ex-fiancee Quinn, executive producer Carter Bays hinted that Manganiello or some other actors who have appeared before will appear again:

“We’ve been really nostalgic this season and we’d like to get as many people back as we can … There are some fun little surprises.”

In addition to Manganiello’s prospective appearance (which would make some sense based on the fact that he is now working closely with Jason Segel’s Marshall), it has already been confirmed that Jayma Mays of “Glee” will be coming back to the show as the coat check girl from season 1. This is much more of an Easter egg casting, as she was hardly the same sort of big name at the time that the show first premiered. (She was originally known mostly for playing the tragic role of Charlie on “Heroes.”)

Some guests to already return to the show this year include Kyle MacLachlan, James Van Der Beek, Ashley Williams, and Michael Trucco.
