ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Full ‘Target’ sneak peeks (complete with weeping)

Nathan FillionWe’ve heard time and time again that the two-part “Castle” season 5 episode beginning on Monday night is going to contain more than a few tear-jerking moments, and we now have even more of an idea as to what they are talking about based on the new sneak peeks released by ABC.

What is especially interesting about the clips this time around is seeing how things build from one scene to the next featuring the central story. At first, the mystery that we are looking at here seems to be pretty standard (at least by show standards): we have a standard hit-and-run case, but the real twist here is simply that whoever the victim was in this case opted to actually fire at the car that ran them down. In other words, there was some sort of battle waging at the time the incident happened.

From here, Rick and Kate learn that there was actually a woman who was kidnapped by the person driving the mysterious fan, and it is for this reason that the original victim was trying to gun them down in the first place. The twist here? The kidnapped woman was a college student at Columbia … the same school attended by one Alexis Castle.

Now, things start to get really heartbreaking. While trying to search for answers at the school, Castle quickly learns that Alexis was friends with this woman, and then that she is also missing and presumably kidnapped.

Finally, we turn to Castle attempting to get his daughter back, and the conclusion that Alexis was probably kidnapped largely because she was in the “wrong place at the wrong time.” This is going to be a very difficult case for Castle to handle, especially since there is really only so much he can do for the time being.

Be sure to check back on Monday night, as we will have a full review on this first part of the epic “Castle” event. If you want to see some more scoop on the show’s 100th episode, you can do so here.
