‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Will Samuel Larsen be back for ‘Girls (and Boys) on Film’?
It may be to budgets or to scheduling issues, but for whatever reason the last new two new episodes of “Glee” have been severely lacking in the Joe Hart department. So what is the explanation for it? During the “I Do” episode, Will explained that there were a number of members of New Directions who were strangely suffered from avian bird flu.
So is this going to change for the upcoming March 7 episode? Based on what we are hearing right now about “Girls (and Boys) on Film,” that seems to be the case. For one, we know that the entire New Directions is supposed to be present for some of the performances, and that very much includes Larsen along with Alex Newell (who also was missing in action during “I Do”).
Just in case you want some more evidence, Larsen posted on his Twitter earlier in the month that he was on the show’s set all day shooting mash-up performances …. and we know from this story that the boys are going to be performing a pair of songs from different Tom Cruise movies. So rest assured that we are going to be seeing a bit more of Joe, though we do wish the writers would give him something more to do. It’s been nearly a year since the character had some sort of substantial storyline with Quinn, and that never really evolved into much of anything after he helped her get over her devastating car accident.
Do you want to see Larsen have a much larger storyline for the rest of “Glee” this season? We want to hear your thoughts below! If you want to see the full song list for this episode, you can do so over at the link here.

A few months ago, I stumbled on a youtube video of the Glee performance of “Some Nights.” Samuel Larson jumped out at me in a big way, even though he had a minor part in the song… not the best singer or dancer in the group, but by far the most compelling. After the “Who is THAT?” moment, I hunted up the Glee wiki, found out just who he was, and started catching up.
Now after watching the way the writers have treated the character of Joe Hart, Samuel Larson still stands out on the show, but not in a *good* way. He’s much too raw and “Indy” to fit into the cheesy, toothpaste-commercial Glee Box, and all the attempts to do so have been downright embarrassing.
He’s done fine with the few lines in the few songs he’s been given… they guy has a voice. He’s not enough of a dancer to make the “marching band formation” choreography look anything but clumsy. But far worse… Good Lord, NOBODY could act the lines he’s been given without looking like a fool! I swear, the writing they’ve given the guy to try to work with has been downright painful!
Samuel is a talented, interesting, soulful performer, but as things stand, he’s NOT a good fit for Glee. Unless Joe Hart gets an Indy recording contract and goes on a rock star trip, there’s no fixing it. He needs to get the hell off that show.

He is multi talented can sing anything and play any instrument! Ryan chose him as the Winner for a reason!! Alex/wade/unique was not a winner but merely awarded an arc and he is getting more so HS and story lines than Samuel,.. I don’t get it??!! Alex is talented but he always sounds the same… Samuel is versatile and people would know that if Ryan gave him material. Look him up on YouTube. He’s a natural!!

The only time Joe is interesting is when he presents a Christian point of view. As Glee is about tolerance and all points of view, I enjoy having that viewpoint presented as well as all the other ones. Outside of that though, Joe is pretty boring as a character. He’s an okay singer, but not a great one. Other than providing a distinct point of view, he doesn’t add much to the show. When the cast graduates, he should move on…. And I agree about Puck – it’s time for him to go away. Mercedes could be a good addition to the crew in NYC if they’d move her from LA. Her continual trips to Lima are a bit much, because she doesn’t really do anything.

I’m very disappointed that Glee hasn’t given Samuel Larsen more solos, songs, and a storyline. The other Glee Project winners received much more air time. I don’t care about the new characters.

I’d LOVE to see more Joe! He could be a great addition if they’d write him in more. I’d also like to see more from Tina, Artie And Sugar. I love the new characters Marley, Jake and Ryder – they’re fantastic but I miss the others who aren’t getting the screen time.

I love Samuel Larsen, he’s amazing and I do not understand why not give him a decent storyline.

I love Samuel Larsen’s voice, acting and dancing. My friends and I love the Joe character, but it is very disappointing that he has no solos or storylines. He can’t continue to gain fans if he is not featured. But, he has alot of fans who would be very irate if he is cut.

Over Joe, he has an ok singing voice, but has no screen presence, cant dance, and the chemistry with the rest of the group isnt there.
Ready to let go of Joe, Mercedes, Puck.
