‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Christoph Waltz, Fred Armisen preview show
After seeing a show hosted by Justin Bieber that proved to be rather controversial to the show faithful, this upcoming edition of “Saturday Night Live” is set to be a little bit more dramatic … at least in terms of who is hosting the show in an Academy Award-winning actor.
Christoph Waltz is currently in the middle of a very busy time in his life. He is one of the favorites to win Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his role in “Django Unchained,” and he is also starting to see himself become more and more than just a favorite of Quentin Tarantino. This preview is mostly funny just because Waltz seems to be completely comfortable with who he is, and he doesn’t try to force any laughs where there aren’t any.
The biggest surprise to us? How much he and fellow cast member Fred Armisen (who is also in the video) look alike. The physical similarities here only add to the video’s humor, as Armisen struggles to have himself positioned right courtesy of a lift, and also bashes the actor when it comes to patriotism (despite him being from Austria in the first place).
Be sure to check back all week for more coverage on Waltz’s show, including just what sort of sketches there will probably be and another preview featuring musical guest Alabama Shakes a little bit closer to the show airing. (This later promo is typically unveiled the day before.)
