‘Supernatural’ season 8 spoilers: No more apple dumplings…
Whenever we post articles about episode titles for any shows, we always do our best to do so with a preface: these titles are tentative, and could change at any time and for any reasons before the episode airs.
With that in mind, we have something new to share for “Supernatural” fans: an “Apple Dumpling Gang” that is no longer an apple dumpling gang at all. Remember this homage to an old Disney film serving as a title for the 18th episode of the season? Well, that seems to not be happening anymore. According to a new post on Twitter from co-executive producer Jim Michaels, the episode now has the title of “Freaks and Geeks.”
Ultimately, it’s pretty hard to be upset about a title like this, mostly because they took a title and actually found a way to make it into an homage to something even more awesome than it was previously. Sadly, there is still no telling just what this episode could be about, but given that the title is what it is and Felicia Day has established a “geek queen” status for herself, is it fair to speculate this could mark her return to the show? It’s possible, but all we know at the moment is that she will be back for an episode later this season as famed computer hacker / live action role playing superstar Charlie.
This has been an especially strong season for episode titles, with some of the personal highlights including “LARP and the Real Girl,” “A Little Slice of Kevin,” “Man’s Best Friend with Benefits,” or “Pac-Man Fever” (another candidate to feature Day).
