‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 trailer: When will it be available?
There are not many shows out there that generate so much excitement based on a trailer alone, but this is “Game of Thrones” we are talking about here. It’s a show more epic in scope than many feature films, and it has a budget and filming schedule that is so massive it is definitely cinema-quality and then some.
Tragically, HBO has been a little bit of a tease thus far, and made us wait far longer for the first real trailer for season 3 of the show than they did for season 2 last year (which was already out at this time). So why the wait? That is very much a mystery, but Winter Is Coming reports that this trailer will be first posted On Demand on Monday, February 25.
So what does this mean? If it follows past patterns, then the trailer is probably going to debut on the network the following night. It’s also theoretically possible that they could give the trailer exclusively to a website to post before then, but we really have a hard time doing that, since we personally believe that HBO would want it available in a format that it was easy for readers to embed and share all across the internet.
Even though the wait this year is long, it will surely be worth it; plus, we suspect that this may merely be a tactic to try and spike up interest for the new season quickly, rather than have it slowly build up over a lengthier period of time. The season 2 DVD will be out several days before this on February 19, and the aforementioned website also is reporting that the network plans to place an “About Game of Thrones” featurette on Demand on February 18. This will likely be a quick way to try and bring in new viewers to the series, or those who have missed some episodes here or there.
