‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Torrey DeVitto talks Paul Wesley scene

Even though Torrey DeVitto has been a part of “The Vampire Diaries” in some shape or form since season 3, there is one thing she has actually not been able to do until now: work on a scene with her real-life husband Paul Wesley. Luckily, we know now when this scene is going to air … along with the rather sad news that it may be one of the last appearances for the Meredith Fell character in quite some time.

Is DeVitto leaving the show for good? Not necessarily, but the actress landed a new role on “Army Wives” season 7 that will keep her busy in Charleston, South Caroline for most of the next several months, and this will limit her participation both in this show and another series that she recurs in “Pretty Little Liars” (as Spencer’s older sister Melissa).

As a matter of fact, DeVitto told Zap2It in a new interview that she only had one day to work on her scene for the February 21 “Vampire Diaries” episode; in addition to that, she also explained why she loves being in Atlanta with Wesley and company so much:

“I always have so much fun going on that show … I’ve known the whole cast for a very long time now, and they’re always so welcoming and sweet. Unfortunately — or, actually, fortunately — I had to start my ‘Army Wives’ role, so I was only on the set for one day, to finish up the episode.”

DeVitto also explained that she had a very good time working with her husband on this scene, which led to her changing her mind about whether or not she enjoyed working with him:

“I had such a great time working with him, and it was so amazing, I totally take back everything I said. We just have such a mutual respect for each other, and a similar work ethic.”
