NBC’s ‘Smash’ season 2 spoilers: Karen’s choice

Even though “Smash” has been off the air for a solid nine months now, the season premiere airing a week from Tuesday still somehow feels almost as if it has snuck up on us as viewers. There are so many major events that we are waiting to see unfold now, just as there are so many questions that need answers. What happened to get Frank, Dev, and Ellis out of the show? You will find the answers to some of this out during the season 2 premiere (which you can watch early at this link), whereas some other news is going to be a little bit more of a slow build.

According to a new report from E! News, one thing that we can promise you about this season is that we are now not going to see a shy, timid Karen by any means. As a matter of fact, the “Bombshell” cast member is going to make an enormous move within the first few episodes of the season that will have huge implications for the rest of the career.

How big are we talking here? Let’s try to put it in these terms: if she succeeds, it could help her very much on her road to stardom. However, if she fails it could mean that her career on stage is really stalled before it ever gets started. This season is going to be much more about production than it is romance, though there will still be a few storylines sprinkled here and there when it comes to love and life away from the stage.
