‘Teen Wolf’ season 3 spoilers: How Colton Haynes’ departure will be handled

Teen WolfIf you are a fan of MTV’s “Teen Wolf,” then odds are you were either angry and/or devastated when the news was first revealed this past fall that Colton Haynes was not going to be coming back on the show for season 3. (Instead, he has recently booked an arc on The CW’s “Arrow.”)

So what are the producers doing in order to address his departure? Luckily, they were given enough time to come up with an appropriate way to say goodbye to the character, it will be a pretty sensible explanation as to why he is gone: timing. According to a brand-new report from E! News, there will be a jump of four months from season 2 to season 3, and the departure of Jackson is really going to be addressed courtesy of just a few short lines from Lydia.

As for what other ramifications we are going to see following the exit of Haynes, Isaac is going to have an opportunity for a much more important role in the show. This is one of the benefits to a male lead ultimately checking out from a series, and the network has opted more to promote from within rather than strictly casting a new man in order to take Haynes’ place. We know that the network was in many ways at first caught off guard by his departure, and for a time there was actually a great deal of confusion as to whether or not we were actually going to be seeing Haynes come back for more.

Are you still disappointed that Haynes has taken off from “Teen Wolf,” or do you think the show has done a pretty good job in preparing for his departure? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can read more on Haynes’ arrival to “Arrow” over at the link here.
