On January 31, the long-awaited “Naked” episode of “Glee” is going to air, and at the moment we can’t figure out whether or not we are more excited or simply weirded out about this entire episode. It’s interesting, really, how great the divide is between a student in high school and a freshman in college just based on cultural perception: we find the idea of many high schoolers at McKinley posing for a shirtless calendar to be rather icky, but at the same time nobody has really had any criticism at all for a story that could lead to Rachel Berry losing her top for a production at NYADA.
Since we know that some of these new photos are in demand, we might as well give to you some more teasers about the “Men of McKinley” calendar shoot that is supposedly to raise money for future competitions (which we still don’t fully understand, given that they could just go and ask Sugar’s dad for cash). You likely already knew that Blaine was going to help celebrate Christmas and that Ryder was celebrating the Fourth of July, but what about these photos? We still don’t know what month Sam is posing for here (maybe Memorial Day / May?), since we typically assume that fireworks are for the Fourth of July.
Meanwhile, a couple other ones are a little more obvious. Samuel Larsen’s Joe is clearly a very shirtless Easter bunny, while Jake Puckerman is the sort of pumpkin that we are pretty sure that we have never seen before. What we really hope that we have a chance to see in here is the idea that image can be just as daunting and imposing for men as it is for women; we often hear how ladies are told by the media to look a certain way, but look at how many other shows and movies tell us the ideal dude has to be some hunky, muscular guy with a set of pearly whites.
Are you excited about this episode, or is the whole calendar too gimmicky for your taste? If you want to find out some more news pertaining to Santana (and her possible move to New York), be sure to visit the link here.
