‘American Horror Story’ season 3: Ryan Murphy says to expect ‘evil glamour’

Evan PetersThe first season of “American Horror Story” had a bit more focus then “Asylum” when it comes to the characters and their journey.  This season has brought terror, there’s no question about that, but there has been something missing this time around that viewers have really been wanting – that connection between two characters that was so prevalent in Violet and Tate.  Now we’re not saying that every story has to have a teen love story.  What we are talking about is the connection between the characters, that special something that draws two people together (for whatever the reason).  We saw some of that with the Kit and Grace story line, but it quickly got lost in the shuffle of aliens, Nazis, demons and monsters.

When it comes to season 3 of “American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy already has plans to bring back that tragic “Romeo and Juliet” type love story. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Murphy said that not only does he plan to bring in another youth romance, but he also said that it won’t be as dark as “Asylum” has been.  He said:

“I mean, I don’t think anything could ever be as dark as the mental health care system in our country. I sorta feel like for the third version I want to do something that’s a little bit more “evil glamour.” Just something that’s a little bit more…one of the things that I missed this season was I really loved having that Romeo & Juliet youth story with Violet and Tate. I want something like that again and we’re doing something like that in the third season. And we’re contemplating shooting the show in a different place. We’re contemplating shooting it in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans.”

There are only a few episodes left of “American Horror Story: Asylum” and a lot of story lines left to wrap up. Next week we will learn more about Grace’s baby and what exactly the plan is for her when it comes to the aliens and the cat and mouse game between Lana and Dr. Thredson will finally come to a head. Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, January 9th at 10 p.m. for the next new episode of “American Horror Story: Asylum”.
