Emily Maynard as ‘The Bachelorette’ again? Really?

For about a month or so, it seemed as though the tabloid rumors surrounding Emily Maynard were just about dead following her breakup with Jef Holm … and then all of a sudden, they rose from the ashes like a phoenix. First, there were sightings of her with her ex-fiancee that started to make people that she and her ex were going to get back together (even though it wasn’t happening); and now, the latest rumor to resurface is that the producers of “The Bachelor” are actually considering making her the next “Bachelorette” … again.

The latest source on this subject suggests that there has been “talk” about bringing Emily back for another season … though this “talk” could also mean that they talked about bringing her back for another season in the event that all of the other top candidates say no, or that they talked about it and quickly shot it down.

This is not meant as a slam against Emily, who seemed nice enough on the show and pulled in some pretty excellent ratings. Instead, it just doesn’t really make any sense from a TV perspective. This is not a Brad Womack situation where she failed to pick no one the first time, and wants to redeem herself after some soul-searching. Instead, this would be her third time taking part in this competition, and it has already makes little to no sense that the producers would want her back on the show given that she has shown twice that this journey does not really work for her. For some people (especially single parents), you really need to take the time to get to know the person you are going to be with, and not everyone can be Jason Mesnick.

Hopefully, there will be someone so likable on Sean Lowe’s season that does not win, and then everyone will want them to be “The Bachelorette.” If that happens, then it is quite possible that many of these rumors will finally stop.
