‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Joss Ross Bowie’s Barry Kripke to return

KripkeFresh off “The Big Bang Theory” posting its biggest ratings ever on Thursday night, we now have some more news that is sure to make some diehard fans of the show excited: one of the most-popular recurring characters is coming back, and this time it is not Wil Wheaton.

Rather, executive producer Bill Prady confirmed in a new post on his official Twitter account that John Ross Bowie has returned to the show’s set this week to tape a new episode as Barry Kripke’s one of Sheldon’s co-workers best known for his unusual voice and often condescending behavior towards Jim Parsons’ character. This is the first time that Kripke has surfaced all season long, as he was last seen during Howard’s bachelor party, which of course (and like most bachelor parties) eventually became a complete and total disaster as more and more troubling secrets about Howard’s past started to come out … and Bernadette found out about all of them.

So what is Kripke coming back for this time? That much is unclear, but the good news here is that his appearances helps to assuage any concerns out there that Bowie would not be turning up much anymore given that he and Kevin Sussman (who plays comic book store owner Stuart) are working on a potential pilot project with Amazon. As we said when that news was first announced, though, it is unlikely that these duties will inhibit either one of the actors from continuing to make sporadic appearances on the sitcom here. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a part of the top-rated show on TV?
