New tonight: ‘Person of Interest’ is back, ‘Buckwild’ arrives, Kathy Griffin performs
As we said yesterday, we’re going to work over the coming weeks at trying to make sure you know what is going on with all your favorite shows, especially given that so many of them return from their hiatuses at very different dates. This is not something that we necessarily see doing all year long (at least for now), but why not put it through a little bit of a trial run at first?
Airing tonight are a number of shows that do qualify as a little bit of everything, whether it be crime drama, comedy, a stand-up special from someone still getting headlines for kissing Anderson Cooper’s crotch, and a reality show that many are calling the heir apparent to “Jersey Shore.”
The entire CBS lineup – “The Big Bang Theory,” “Person of Interest,” and “Elementary” are all back after a few weeks off to try and take their place on top of the ratings. This is a smart move for them, being that they can try to establish some hooks in viewers, and therefore keep them for the rest of the spring. Did you see how well it worked with NBC and “Revolution,” a pretty ho-hum show that still has great ratings? “Person of Interest” in particular surged in spring, and it could do the same thing here.
“What Not To Wear” (TLC) – Can you believe that this show has really been on for ten full seasons? Well, it returns at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time tonight to try and give more fashion-challenged people some advice and make over their looks.
“Mobbed” (Fox) – Just in case you want 2 hours more of flash mobs following yesterday. If so, we’re really going to start questioning whether or not you love people randomly showing up at various places and dancing a little too much.
“Buckwild” (MTV) – Multiple networks have tried to create a new competitor for “Jersey Shore,” but now, MTV is actually trying to replace it in the same 10:00 p.m. time slot. This is a much-hyped look at some young people in West Virginia who live outdoors and do crazy things. It basically reminds us of “Duck Dynasty” with the add presence of hormones and bad behavior (and with fewer duck calls).
“Kathy Griffin: Kennedie Center On-Hers” (Bravo) – Also airing at 10:00, Kathy tries to keep her winning streak going following the CNN New Year’s Eve special … but she needs to first recover from this terrible name.
What are you going to watch tonight? If you want to watch some more video footage of Kathy with Anderson, you can do so over here!
