‘Sons of Anarchy’ video: Kurt Sutter looks back at season 5

Sons of AnarchyIn wrapping up 2012, why not take a look back at the world of “Sons of Anarchy” season 5 one final time? This is at least the thinking of showrunner Kurt Sutter, who came up with one finale edition of his “WTF Sutter” series to post early in the day on New Year’s Eve.

If you are looking for any sort of specific scoop for season 6 of the hit show, you’re probably going to be rather disappointing by what Sutter hands out here. However, we actually rather like that this was not so much about the show’s future, but instead all about the present. He starts things off by thanking many of the individual cast and crew members for all the work that they put into season 5, and especially spends a few minutes commending Charlie Hunnam for all of the time and effort he puts into making Jax Teller the landmark character for the show that he is. It’s rare that you have a show that is so strong (and also building an audience still) five years after its debut, and this is something that he specifically acknowledges.

From here, the video gets a little introspective as Sutter talks about his own process in preparing the show, and how it consumes so much of his life during production that he almost feels a little bit lost when he is not working on a season. Luckily, he will be back to work pretty soon with his writing team to figure out just where SAMCRO goes from here, and just who among the guest cast will be able to return for more. He’s definitely set the bar high to create an even better product than season 5, but we have a feeling that he is going to put his all into making sure that it happens.

If you want to watch another video from Sutter that does take a little bit more of a look forward to the new season, you can do so over at the link here.
